Senior Uzbek Academics Attend Research Methodology Course at MATE
Nine senior academics from Tashkent State Agrarian University visited the Szent István Campus of the Hungarian University of Agriculture and Life Sciences (MATE) to take part in an intensive training in research methodology. The training was organised as part of the Gödöllő Summer University initiative.
At the opening ceremony of the Gödöllő Summer University, participants were welcomed by Dr Zoltán Kovács, Vice-Rector for Research and International Relations. In his address, he emphasised MATE’s commitment to making its broad and modern educational portfolio known and accessible not only in Hungary, but internationally as well. He highlighted the importance of knowledge sharing across borders, while also strengthening the University’s global visibility and recognition.
The Russian-language course, led by Dr Zoltán Lakner, professor at MATE, provided participants with an opportunity to explore and acquire up-to-date research knowledge and methodological skills. During the week-long programme, the Uzbek academics gained a comprehensive overview of key issues in modern research methodology and scientific publishing.
The professional programme covered a wide range of topics, including methods for conducting systematic literature reviews, bibliometrics and scientometrics, the use of the R programming environment, big data analysis, qualitative and quantitative research methods, as well as practical aspects of writing scientific papers and research proposals.
In addition to the group sessions, participants also took part in individual consultations and had the opportunity to present their own research projects.
On the final day of the programme, participants received certificates confirming the successful completion of MATE’s continuing education course. The Uzbek academics unanimously described the programme as highly informative, well organised and professionally valuable, and discussions have already begun on possible future continuation and further cooperation.
