Introduction of Cashless Payment Methods for University Students at the Kosáry Domokos Library and Archives

From 1 February 2026, Patrons with an active MATE student status will be able to settle the charges for paid library services and loan-related late fees via the Neptun system, in accordance with the procedures outlined below.

Any costs incurred in connection with library services will be recorded in the library system upon presentation of the Neptun code and a valid library card or the eCard mobile application. The student will receive a paper-based receipt and, by signing it, acknowledges that the fee for the paid service used at the MATE Kosáry Domokos Library and Archives will be charged to the Neptun system based on the data provided.

In cases where administration is not conducted in person (e.g. use of the book return box, return of books by an authorized representative, or return by post), the Library will record the late fee under the borrower’s name and Neptun code. The student will be notified of the posted charge by e-mail.

The outstanding charges recorded in the library system will be transferred at the beginning of each month by the Directorate of Education to the student’s account in the Neptun system. Therefore, charges for services will not be posted immediately in Neptun, but will appear at the beginning of the next month.

For students with an active student status and a valid Neptun code, the option of cash payment will be discontinued starting 1 February 2026.

Please note that valid library registration is required for the use of all paid services.

Users who are not yet enroled in the Library are advised to initiate the enrolment process by completing the online enrolment form, which may reduce the administrative processing time.

Online registration

Library patrons without an active MATE student status may continue to settle fees for paid library services and loan-related charges in person at the Library by cash.
