The team of leaders and staff of Hungarian University of Agricultural and Life Sciences - MATE represented our university at the 19th Ultrabalaton Running Race, where besides the ultra runners, the majority of the team completed the 211 km distance around Lake Balaton in small and large relay teams. More than 28 300 runners took part in the race, starting from Balatonfüred and returning around the lake.

The “MATErealists” team completed the distance with exemplary teamwork and excellent times, proving once again the MATE spirit is not only a force in education and research, but also in sports. The MATErealists were made up of MATE rector, university leaders and staff who had been preparing for the Ultrabalaton for many months. The race was not only a test of physical strength for them, but also a great opportunity to bring the university community together.

The team was supported by the university, as the event was a great opportunity for MATE to show its commitment to healthy living, health awareness, exercise and community experiences in another area.
