Hajrullah Cakaj

On September 9th, 2010, I arrived in Gödöllő, with a scholarship from FAO and the Hungarian Ministry of Rural Development. Two years later, I proudly graduated from Szent Istvan University. The experience wasn't just about the academic program; interacting with diverse local and international students added depth to my education.

From 2012 to 2013, I participated in the USAID program "NOA: New Opportunities for Agriculture." I led approximately 50 farmers in the western region of Kosovo, focusing primarily on vegetable production.

From 2014 to 2017, I served as an assistant manager at Boden & Wasser Verband in Maintal, Germany. My primary focus was on precision agriculture. From 2018 to 2020, I joined the Plant Breeding department at Justus-Liebig University in Giessen, Germany. In 2021, I took on the role of senior phenotyper in maize at Limagrain Field Seeds. This position emphasized the utilization of remote sensing and real-time kinematic GPS technologies.

In addition to my professional endeavors, I currently pursue doctoral studies at Wageningen University and Research, within the Department of Remote Sensing.

Between 2022 and 2023, Limagrain hosted appr. 20 MATE students within the framework of an internship contract, and now we are actively working on facilitating internships for MATE students in France and the Netherlands, thereby expanding internship opportunities.
