Dr. Zoltán Mayer - MATE Research
Overview
Zoltán Mayer is an Associate professor at the Microbial Biotechnology and Microbiomics Group/Department of Microbiology and Applied Biotechnology/Institute of Genetics and Biotechnology. His research focuses on Arbuscular mycorrhizal (AM) symbiosis and his expertise lies in abiotic and biotic stress mitigation by biocontrol agents. Zoltán Mayer’s work contributes to questions of how the plant defense system can be improved against abiotic and biotic stress effects with biocontrol agents. Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungal inoculation can be used and how it has an effect on plant protection and development of plant vigor. His empirical work has assessed these theories in settings ranging from the effect of inoculation and from abiotic stress effects to biotics. Across his research, he uses microbial biotechnological tools. He authored and co-authored 12 research articles in high-impact scientific journals.
