Interactive English Lessons with MATE International Students at Local Primary and Secondary Schools

Continuing the tradition of Hungarian Agricultural and Life Sciences University - MATE, seven international students gave presentations and were interviewed by the pupils of the Calvinist Lyceum of Gödöllő in the framework of an interactive English class on 13 December 2024, while four students visited the Erkel Ferenc Primary School in Gödöllő on 21 February, at the invitation of the English teachers of the school.

On 21 February, the students gave a colourful presentation of two English lessons from three countries. The Hungarian pupils were not only able to test their English language skills, but also to broaden their geographical knowledge. They had the chance to learn a few words of some of the local Nigerian languages, learn a few steps of the Igbo dance, get a glimpse of the wonderful world of Sri Lanka and drum a rhythm to an Indian song.

Such visits are a unique experience for both Hungarian and foreign students: give an insight in the life of Hungarian people, facilitate connections out of university for international students, while make the Hungarian local community more open and sensitive to cultures and meanwhile add to the fame of MATE.

Thanks to the MATE students for the great contribution: Chioma Lilian Ozoaduche, Rita Barakat, Manisha Koirala, Natasha Oropeza Rakó, Sabbir Ahmad, Suneel Kumar, Muhammad Adrian Fathan, Gabriel Randriamananten, K.P.G. Lahiru Sandaruwan, Joseph Shaibu and Ayyappadoss Padmanaban.
